v2.0.0
LatestThis is the biggest update we have ever shipped. We rebuilt Prayr from the ground up, and a lot has changed for the better. The headline is that you no longer need an account to use it. Everything you track is saved right on your device, and the moment you sign in it all syncs to your account so nothing gets lost. On top of that, we completely reworked the dua experience, added guided morning and evening adhkar that count along with you, made prayer times more accurate, and added a couple of new tools. The whole app is cleaner and faster than before.
New Features
- You can now use the whole app without making an account. Your prayers, habits, bookmarks, tasbih and zakat are all saved locally on your device, and when you do decide to sign up, everything carries over in a single tap, so you never lose your history.
- Guided morning and evening adhkar are here. Choose a set and tap through each dhikr at your own pace. The counter keeps your place, plays the audio, moves you to the next one when you finish, and remembers where you stopped if you step away and come back later.
- The dua collection has been completely redesigned. You can browse by occasion through clear sections, search by name, and narrow things down with quick filters, and every category now has its own short description and icon so the right dua is easy to find.
- Two new tools have been added. There is a tasbih counter for keeping count of your daily dhikr, and a zakat calculator that walks you through gold, silver, cash and liabilities, and checks everything against nisab for you.
- You can now read Islamic articles directly inside the app, with full pages for the longer reads.
- Audio is better all around. You can change the playback speed, set a sleep timer, and recitations, podcasts and the Quran all buffer more smoothly than before.
Improvements
- Prayer times in Sri Lanka are noticeably more accurate now. We tuned the calculation to line up with the times people actually pray by locally.
- Late in the evening the app no longer goes quiet after Isha. The next prayer now shows tomorrow's Fajr with a live countdown, and if you move to a future day, that day's Fajr is highlighted for you.
- The old Prayer and Habits page is now the Prayer Journal. It brings your fard and sunnah tracking, your daily habits, your statistics, and a full calendar of your prayer history together on one focused page.
- The whole dashboard feels lighter. Cards and widgets are more compact and everything loads faster, so you see more at a glance and scroll less.
- Setting your location is easier and more reliable now, whether you search for your city or use your current location.
- We fixed a lot of smaller layout issues on phones, especially around the prayer settings and the featured content carousel.
- We also removed the XP, levels and achievements. They were pulling attention toward points rather than the worship itself, so we took them out to keep the app simple and sincere.
Bug Fixes
- Dua audio now stops properly when you leave the page or move to a different dua, instead of carrying on playing in the background.
- Fixed dark mode occasionally switching itself back to light.
- Cleared up a few Quran audio playback issues.
- Fixed the featured content cards and their controls overlapping on smaller screens.
- Fixed an issue where transliteration text would sometimes accidentally replace your selected translations in the Quran reader.
