Help
How can we help?
Answers about guest mode and accounts, sync, prayer times, privacy, and your data. If yours isn't here, a person answers the email.
Accounts and guest mode
Do I need an account?
Not to use Prayr. Prayer times, the journal, the Qur'an, du’as, articles, podcasts, Ramadan and zakat all work as a guest, and what you log is kept in this browser on this device. You need an account to keep it in sync across devices, and to share an idea, report a bug, support an idea or comment.
What happens to my guest data when I make an account?
Prayr offers to import it: the prayers and habits you logged in the last 90 days, your du’a bookmarks and a saved zakat calculation. You agree to how Prayr stores them first. After the import, the copy on your device is cleared so you don't end up with two.
How do I sign in?
With your email and password, or with Google or Discord. If you forget your password, choose “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page and we'll email you a link.
Can I lose guest data?
Yes. It lives in your browser, so clearing your browser data removes it. Make an account if you want it kept safely.
Sync
How does sync work?
Signed in, your prayers, habits and du’a progress are stored with your account, so they appear on any device where you sign in.
Does Prayr work offline?
Prayer times are worked out on your device, so once the page has loaded they keep working if the connection drops. Articles, podcasts and live gold prices need a connection.
Prayer times
Which calculation method should I use?
The one your masjid or community follows. Prayr offers the common methods, including Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Karachi and ISNA. If you're not sure, start with the default for your region and compare a few days against your masjid's timetable.
Why are my times slightly different from my masjid?
Masjids sometimes round the time, use a different method, or follow a national timetable. Choose the closest method, then move any prayer by a few minutes in Settings until it lines up. The offset stays.
What does elevation correction do?
Turn on elevation correction and Sunrise and Maghrib follow your altitude, instead of assuming sea level. It is off unless you turn it on.
Can Prayr remind me when it's time to pray?
Yes. Turn on notifications in Settings and choose which prayers to be reminded about, with or without the adhan.
Privacy and analytics
Does Prayr use analytics?
Yes. Prayr uses analytics to understand which features people use and where they're from, so it can improve the app. It never includes what you pray or read. You can turn it off in Settings or in the Privacy Policy.
Are there ads?
No. Prayr has no ads.
How is my location used?
To work out your prayer times. If you turn on elevation correction, your coordinates are sent to an elevation service (Open-Elevation) to look up your altitude. Analytics, and Prayr's own counts, see the country you're in, not your exact location. The Privacy Policy has the full detail.
Export or delete your data
How do I download my data?

How do I delete my account?
